Dan, the reasons I chose that subject line include:
- Many of us would hope that when a candidate addresses an issue on which he disagrees with the LP Platform, he first identify the Platform's position, and then state his disagreement with it.
- Some radicals use the Platform as a bludgeon against candidates who don't fully agree with its most extreme positions, such as (in the old Platform) personal secession, immediate non-enforcement of tax laws, and privatizing all streets/pipes.
- The Bylaws say that the national party can support our presidential ticket only if "their campaigns are conducted in accordance with the Platform of the Party".
