Stewart, it's worse than that. The LPUS Bylaws say "No member of the National Committee may be a member of the Judicial Committee." The "almost unnoticed" conflict of interest here is so screamingly obvious that prevention of it is baked into the bylaws of both the LPUS, the LPCA, and I suspect all other LPs as well. Anybody paying attention during any JudCom election at any LP convention would tend to know this stuff.
