Kevin, you keep invoking Jus Gentium and talking about travelers
bringing their home laws with them, but I don't see how this idea
constitutes a third alternative to 1) standard federalism (cf.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choice_of_law) and 2) privatized law (cf.
David Friedman). I find it somewhat unrewarding to try to follow your
discussion with Mik, even though I can tell he's saying a lot of things
that I agree with. Have you considered writing up your idea of
competing governments in a couple of pages, along with comparisons both
to the leading alternative theories and to what you consider the closest
historical examples?
